WIRE ROPE STRANDING TYPES
CROSS LAY
Cross-laid strands consist of at least two layers of wire that are stranded in the same direction, with the wires of two superimposed layers crossing and touching at specific points.

PARALLEL LAY
Parallel-laid strands consists of at least two wire layers that are all laid in the same direction in one operation. The lengths of lay of all wire layers are the same and the wires of two superimposed layers are parallel, resulting in linear contact. Parallel-laid ropes consist of at least two layers of strands that are stranded in a single, helical operation around a rope core.
